Wauseon - Lowell Dean Schultz, age 85, of Wauseon, passed away on January 7, 2025, at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio - Perrysburg. Lowell worked for Sheridan Manufacturing for 46 years, retiring as a manufacturing manager.Lowell was born on October 27, 1939, in Wauseon, to the late Russell F. and Bessie (Spengler) Schultz. He graduated from Pettisville High School in 1957. On November 12, 1960, he married the love of his life, Patricia (Birtcher), and she survives. Lowell loved all things sports. Lowell is best known as a basketball official, softball umpire, and baseball umpire; officiating thousands of games in his career from youth to varsity sports. He also volunteered his time officiating games for the Special Olympics. In high school, Lowell excelled in basketball and baseball. In his retirement, Lowell was a crossing guard, substitute custodian for Wauseon Schools, and also served as a groundskeeper for the schools, painting the athletic fields.
