Nancy R. (Dewey) Barnes, age 76, of Wauseon, passed away suddenly in her home on Friday, January 10, 2025.
She was born on June 23, 1948, at an Army base in Pennsylvania, to Bill and Marie (Dewey), who are both deceased. She was always a loving and caring person, and had a major love for cats. She was a Wauseon High School graduate of 1966, and later a graduate of Riverside School of Nursing, class of 1969, and was the class treasurer. She later enlisted in the United State Air Force Nursing Corp from 1970-1972 during the Vietnam War, and rose to the rank of Captain.
She spent many years working as a Head Nurse of Pediatrics at Riverside Hospital, Toledo Children's Hospital, Cincinnati Children's, and Oak Ridge Hospital in Tennessee. She also working for Fulton County Health Center for a short time. She retired from nursing in 2011.
